Empathy

Ivette J. Russo MS in Clinical Psychology

Empathy forms the foundation of a nurturing parent or individual. Empathy is the ability to be aware of the needs of others, and to take positive actions on the behalf of others. Developing a sense of empathy is the cornerstone of being a nurturing parent and individual. Where empathy is high, abuse is low. Like any other skill, the ability to empathize can be developed. Provide your children and yourself with numerous opportunities to practice empathy and self-awareness, which is empathy for oneself.
